Cot mattresses should be breathable and supportive. When we refer to “breathable” we refer to allowing airflow to circulate through the mattress to ensure baby does not over heat. Avoid any memory foam options if you plan to make use of a baby monitor that is required to read through the mattress. From a safety perspective ensure the cot mattress is supportive and firm to avoid baby sinking into the mattresses. We offer 2 higher end options:
• Quilted 15 density foam mattress – we recommend a mattress protector to ensure mattress hygiene.
• Sealy posturepeadic pocket coiled mattress- this mattress has built in waterproofing but a protector would still be a great investment.
